Au Pair Sweden
The aim of the visit is to acquire international experience and have the opportunity to learn Swedish and get acquainted with Swedish culture.
Description
An Au Pair is a big Sister/Brother who lives in Sweden as an extended member of their Host Family.
These young men and women provide child care services in exchange for room, board, a weekly stipend, and contributions towards education.
Responsibilities/Duties
- a maximum of 25 hours housework per week
- Au Pair will take care of the children
- The Au Pair will prepare some light meals for the kids
- The Au Pair will drive the children to and from school
- The Au Pair will do some light hosework
- The Au Pair will babysit
Benefits
- studies in Swedish for a large part of the remainder of a 40-hour work week
- board and lodging
- a minimum salary of SEK 3500 per month before tax
Requirements
- have a valid passport
- be between 18 and 30 years old
- be able to show that you have a distinct interest in or use for Swedish language studies
- Relevant experience with childcare and good references
- No criminal records
- Good health evidence
- Good language skills
- Relevant experience with childcare
- Availability of 1 year
Process
We meet for our interview and discuss all the questions. We give you all the documents you need in order to complete your portfolio and go over all documents needed. Everything will be explained to you in detail and if you have any questions we go over it. The profile fee for the documentation and profile assistance is payable.
Once you got all the needed documents together and completed the application forms you hand it back to us in person, per post or email.
Upon receipt of the documents, our head office go through your portfolio and send it through to the office in Sweden. The 2nd fee is payable at this stage. Your profile will be entered into our partners’ online database and you will be matched with a Swedish family. Families will Skype with you once or twice and ask you questions to make sure you are the right Au Pair for their family. Once you’ve matched with a family then the matching fee is due.
We organize the visa appointment for you at the Swedish embassy.

In many ways Sweden has become a traveler’s paradise. If you love the outdoors, it’s certainly hard to beat. The air and water are crystal clean, there are thousands of acres of unspoiled forests and majestic lakes to explore, and public transport are excellent, the citizens are friendly and helpful. On the contrary, there’s so much to see and do, make sure you allow plenty of time to enjoy all the outdoor adventures and historic treasures.
