Au Pair USA Program

The Au Pair USA program is a fun experience! In your off time you can go out, go sightseeing and have fun!

You only work 45 hours a week in America, so the rest of the time you can relax, go sightseeing, and have fun!

Au pairing is a safe and secure way of exploring a foreign country – especially if you have never travelled before.
You are more than welcome to go on our facebook and chat to Au pairs that have been abroad or those who are still abroad. Then they can share their awesome experience with you!
If you have been an AuPair in the USA before, you can go again!
That means that you can spend up to 4 years in the USA as an aupair.
As long as you meet the requirements as indicated below.

What is an Au Pair?

  • An Au Pair is a big Sister/Brother who lives in the United States as an extended member of their Host Family.
  • These young men and women provide child care services in exchange for room, board, a weekly stipend, and contributions towards education.
    Most au pairs participate in the Au Pair Program for the valuable cultural experience of living with an American family and are treated more as a member of the family then an employee.

Au Pair Requirements:

  • You must be 18-26 years old.
  • Have Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Have 500 hours of child care experience.
  • Understand and speak English.
  • Love kids, be caring.
  • Have patience.
  • Agree to commit for one full year.
  • Be in Good Health
  • Have a drivers license

Au Pair Responsibilities:

  • Take the kids to school, play dates and pick them up.
  • Prepare meals for the kids.
  • Help prepare the kids for the days activities.
  • Assist with general child-related chores, such as laundry, tidying the children’s bedrooms and play areas.
  • Work for 45 hours a week.
  • Up to 10hours a day of childcare.
  • Help kids with homework.
  • If it is a baby, general baby care (diapers, bottle etc)

What is included in the Au Pair programme:

  • Flight to the USA and Return flight upon completion of your year.
  • Online training
  • Basic Medical Insurance.
  • A counsellor within an hours drive from you.
  • A minimum wage of $195.75 per week.
  • $500 study allowance.
  • A 13th month to travel in the USA.
  • 2 Weeks paid vacation during your year.
  • Accommodation and food for the entire years stay.
  • Full support througout your year(s)
  • You get to extent for another 6,9 or 12 months!

Our partner Au Pair Agency in the U.S. is a non-profit organization with over 40 years of cultural exchange experience. The Au Pair USA Program is one of the largest and most respected au pair programs in the world. Our partner and us are dedicated to make the Au Pair program an amazing experience for every au pair.

Starting in 2016 we will do a pre-departure Online training as well as the  “Ages and Stages of Childhood Development” online.

The AuPair online training will help prepare you for this exciting experience. The online training includes courses in child development, First Aid and CPR training, American culture, Culture Shock and many other important topics. Au Pairs will complete the Online Academy upon matching and then travel directly from their home country to the host family.

Process

We meet for our interview and discuss all the questions. We give you all the documents you need in order to complete your portfolio and go over all documents needed. Everything will be explained to you in detail and if you have any questions we go over it. The profile fee for the documentation and profile assistance is payable.

Once you got all the needed documents together and completed the application forms you hand it back to us in person, per post or email.
Upon receipt of the documents, our head office go through your portfolio and send it through to the office in USA. The 2nd fee  is payable at this stage. Your profile will be entered into our partners’ online database and you will be matched with an American family.  Families will Skype with you once or twice and ask you questions to make sure you are the right Au Pair for their family.

Once you’ve matched with a family then the matching fee is due.
We organize the visa appointment for you at the American embassy.

Tourist info

From Los Angeles that is known for it film making to California with its gorgeous beaches and the famous disney park to the disney park in Florida and the warm weather there. Go on to Atlanta where you can visit the world of Coca Cola, botanical garden, aquarium, museums and lego land just to name a view sights. Hop on a train or flight to New York City where you can shop in the famous Fifth Avenue and visit central park and the Statue of Liberty. Go on to the capital Washington DC where you can sit on the steps of the Capital building, visit the whitehouse and take a tour of it, enjoy the different festivals throughout the year. See the beautiful cherry blossom trees next to the Potamic river.
